After helping
my daughter & her husband with a brand new baby & a 22 month old
for the past 2 months, I needed a break. Mountain Stream was
exactly the right place. Being only a couple of weeks before
Christmas, we had Mountain Stream to ourselves. Even in winter
it's a wonderful place. Ron was always willing to answer our
questions. The sound of the mountain stream right outside our
window created a very peaceful environment. My husband and I
will definitely come again! |

We certainly
enjoyed our stay at Mountain Stream. Our campsite (#11) was
right on the stream and we enjoyed listening to the babbling
brook. The facilities (bathhouse) were spotless and the water
was very hot for showers. Becky and Ron are very hospitable
hosts and we appreciated all the work they did for our community
Thanksgiving Feast. We can't wait for our return in the spring!
This RV park is a keeper!! Thank you!! |

When I told
my 10 year old son we were going to Mountain Stream campground,
he asked if there was a pool. I told him they have no swimming
pool. He asked about a playground and again I said no
playground. He said he did not want to go because there is
nothing for him to do. After three days here he is crying
because he doesn't want to leave. He loved playing in the stream
and exploring. I am so glad because that is what I enjoyed doing
when I was a kid camping with my parents 40 years ago when there
were no swimming pools at campgrounds. Thanks for a wonderful
time. See you again soon. |

The cleanest,
neatest campsite we ever stayed at. The scenery is gorgeous &
the creek, right out our door is pristine. It's so quiet &
peaceful. Check out the brilliant colors just before
Thanksgiving. Ron & Becky have an infectious positive attitude
that rubs off on all the campers. If you're here on Sunday,
don't miss church services at the quaint chapel just a pleasant
stroll from the campsite. This is definitely a family-oriented,
Christian-run campsite. Thanks for the memories. |

First let me
say that Ron & Becky were so very nice & always ready to help
with anything we needed (directions). The camp sites were all so
clean & pretty. We didn't use the showers, but we did check them
out while we were walking around & I could not believe how clean
they were & they had heat☺.
We went to relax & get away
from everyday life for a while & that's just what we did thanks
to Ron & Becky. Oh and we were close to all the attractions we
wanted to see. We are ready to go back. Thank you Ron & Becky
for making our trip so relaxing. Hope to see you soon! |

Coming to
Mountain Stream is like coming home. Ron & Becky treat you like
your family. I would invite you to come to Mountain Stream. If
you need to get away from every day life, this is the place. It
is so peaceful, quiet and beautiful here. Everyone is so
friendly. The fishing is great also. The Saturday night dinner &
singing is wonderful. My personal favorite is the 4th of July.
They have fireworks and it is beautiful. This is one RV park
you don't want to miss! We love it here! |

My wife
and I have been on the road since early August (14,000
miles), been from home to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and stayed in a
lot of RV Camps along the way. We chose to stay here last night
based upon your description in the Good Sam Directory and are
glad we did. Now, we wish we had a couple of more days to just
"hang out" and relax, but after three months we're a little
homesick.
Your place
is wonderful. The grounds, and facilities
are impeccable. The quiet and tranquility is disturbed only by
the babbling stream makes for a relaxing setting. Your WiFi is
also great. On the downside, we suggest you try to get some sort
of cable TV for after dinner and/or rainy days. Should we pass
this way again, I certainly would look forward to staying here,
and would recommend it to anyone. |

the 1st time. This is a quiet and peaceful place where everyone
we talked to is just like family. We brought some friends with
us this trip (Maxine and Chris Alexander) and they both had a
great time at the campground and listening to the creek at night
while sitting by the fire. Anyone who stays at Mountain Stream
will have a good time and will come back to stay again just like
we will. Thanks for having such a great campground. |

We had a
wonderful stay at Mt. Stream. We didn't have a chance to meet
Ron, but Becky was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable
about the area. The campground is so peaceful and quiet, it was
perfectly relaxing. It is also beautifully landscaped with
spacious, level sites. As earlier review mentioned, it had the
absolutely cleanest, nicest bathhouse we have ever seen
anywhere!! The only thing that I could think of that would make
the campground any nicer would be if there were playground
equipment and/or a fenced "off-leash" dog walk area where our
high-energy dog could get some playtime and "meet his neighbors"
(the other dogs). Thank you for such a wonderful stay! |

Owner's
Comment: When we started putting camper's comments on the
website, we committed to publish all the comments we receive -
good or bad. We
received the following rather scathing comment below so we'll
publish it, but we'll also include our comments.
Back in July we received a routine
inquiry from this lady regarding availability & prices. Access to the stream seemed to be of particular interest. The
standard reply was given for the differences between prime
stream and standard stream sites - prime stream sites are
generally larger and directly on the water's edge while standard
stream sites tend to be smaller and have a low berm at the
rear of the site between the site and the stream. Later she
made an
on-line reservation for a standard stream site -
there were still prime stream sites open at that time so the $2.00 per night
additional for a prime stream site was apparently more important
than easy access to the stream.
Shortly after arrival, they asked to be moved to a prime stream site because it was
difficult for the wife to get to the stream. However, all of the
prime stream sites that were available when they made their
reservations were now booked. Later the husband came back again
and said that the site was so terrible that to get their
motorhome level they had to raise the front wheels off the
ground and they had to be moved to a prime stream site or they
would leave. This was all very strange because no one else had
ever had such problems. As you can see below the 35' motorhome
(same size as these folks' rig) that is currently on this site
is sitting quite level with all wheels on the ground and awnings
and slides out. However, since we were not willing to throw
someone off a prime stream site to accommodate them, they left
on the second day.

Normally, we don't make refunds to
folks who just decide to leave early. This is because when we
make a reservation, we take that site off the market for the
dates it was reserved - even when it means, as it was it this
case, turning others away. However, we made an exception in this
case and refunded half of the reservation fee.
While they said nothing about it
while they were here, these folks apparently also had a problem
with our policy of asking our campers to use the graveled areas
for their dogs to do their business in rather than the grassy
areas where children play. We consider ourselves pet friendly
and well over half of our campers bring their pets camping with
them. Until now, no one ever seemed to think this was an
unreasonable request - especially those families with children.
These folks aren't likely to come
back to Mountain Stream again and we feel bad about that. We try
to accommodate our guests in every way possible, but there will
be a few that just can't be satisfied. |

I was looking
for your site to post comments regarding your campground. I
guess you post the email you would like under camper comment. So
I am sure this one will not be posted.
In August we made a trip
to the Western Part of North Carolina. We made reservations at
your campground for ten days. We had researched the campground
with Good Sam's, your internet and by a phone call to you.
I
called to find out the difference between the prime stream and
the stream. I was told the prime stream was right on the creek
and the stream was about 5 to 6 feet from the site. Based on
this information we chose the stream. The park also stated it
was pet friendly.
At
the site we had to back in at an angle as the tree on the right
site barely cleared the top of the RV. We had to back way back
so we could put out the awning without hitting the tree on the
right site. The site was so unleveled that we had 3 inch blocks
under the leveling jacks and the jacks were extended as far as
they could be. Our front wheels were off the ground in the front
about two inches. The sites and drive areas were graved. We
were told not to allow pets on the grass area or to not to allow
them to do their busy on the grass, only on the gravel. The
stream that was suppose to be 5-6 feet from the site was at
least that far and went up on a hill that was about 3 feet. Then
you had to go down the other side of the hill and go another 5
to 6 feet to the stream. That is if you could get to it by
fighting your way pass the brush and overgrown area.
Needless to
say we were very disappointed as we feel both the answers to our
phone call and your website had misrepresented the sites. On top
of all this, the leveling was a major problem. I have a
disability and with the RV so high up, my husband had to stand
behind me and give me a push to get up the first step. I did
appreciate the fact you tried to provide something to make the
step not so high. However, the site was not accessible due to my
disability.
We felt based on the fact it was not accessible to
someone with a disability, your camp sites are not pet friendly
and the misrepresentation of the site, we should have been
allowed a fund refund except for the night we stayed
there. Based on your information it should not have been a
problem to have rented the site again. I realize this is "a
lesson learn" on our part. I am sure there is a place to report
campground that do not meet at least the minimum standards of
accessibilities for those with a disability. Once I find the
proper channel to report this, I can assure you I will. I think
it is important for people to know the correct information
before making a reservation so they will not loose money or have
to stay somewhere that doesn't meet the needs of their
customers. I also think the solution you gave of only half the
money back was unacceptable. We left because it was not
accessible to me. Otherwise, we would have stayed the full time
and would have known to mark your campsite off the list of
places to stay.
We were lucky enough to find a small, nice quiet
campground in Morganton. It was accessible, level, more pet
friendly, larger site and even cost less than Mountain
Stream. We have already made reservations with them for the
spring of 2008. The people were very friendly. It really is the
kind of place we like to stay. |

We loved your
campground! It's very clean and your landscaping is beautiful.
When we arrived Ron was very helpful with getting our 5th wheel
parked & our satellite hooked up. Becky was also helpful with
anything we needed and you both seem very happy here. Our
neighboring campers were friendly & everyone respected the
rules. We loved the quiet time 10p - 8a. That was so great. We
will be returning to your campground. Our kids wanted to stay
another night. Thank you for a wonderful experience. |

Mountain
Stream is everything the website says it is and more! Beautiful,
serene, peaceful, spotlessly clean - I could go on. We spent 5
days here, using Mountain Stream as our "home Base" and taking
great day trips to all the fun destinations close by. If we are
ever in this part of the U.S. again, we will definitely make
Mountain Stream and important point on our trip. What an awesome
place! |

The prettiest
little park this side of Heaven. Don't let the few miles of
winding mountain roads leading to Mountain Stream RV Park
dissuade your visit. Sleeping next to bubbling Buck Creek is
mighty relaxing and very peaceful. We recommend this lovely park
to all campers that enjoy beautiful scenery and solitude.

WOW! Your park
is magnificent. We agree it is "The Prettiest Little Park This
Side of Heaven." It is well maintained, clean, secluded, safe
and camper friendly. It was so relaxing to listen to the rushing
stream. Ron & Becky are undoubtedly exceptional hosts. They went
out of their way to ensure our stay (and our 5 chihuahuas) would
be most memorable . . . and they succeeded. We would stay here
anytime and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks so very
much Ron and Becky. |

We really
enjoyed our stay. The Gospel music, ice cream social, and
Saturday evening covered dish dinner were all very enjoyable.
The opportunity to hear God's Word on Sunday morning is very
important to us. The facilities are found to be very neat and
clean. Thank you for providing a wonderful place to camp. |

This was our
2nd visit to Mtn. Stream and we had another Fabulous time. The
park is immaculate! So clean! We sat in the creek all day
Saturday, but we made time to enjoy the Ice Cream Social. The
kids caught tons of crawdads and my oldest son caught 7 baby
trout, which made him so happy. We can not wait until our next
visit - hopefully in the fall. You two are doing a Wonderful job
- We love it!! |

We didn't
think the campground could possibly be as good as the comments
were on the website, and it wasn't. IT WAS BETTER! There is such
a fun, family atmosphere that strikes you as soon as you drive
in the park, it's almost unbelievable! Ron & Becky are the best
campground hosts we've ever met in over 40 years of camping! We
can't wait to come back again! God Bless you both! |

We loved the
park! The view was awesome with the stream running along side.
The bathrooms were the cleanest that we have seen and the staff
was friendly and very accommodating. We were even able to buy
ice a 9:00 at night & with a smile. We think this should be the
park of the year and we will be back as soon as we get a chance. |

What a Gem!
The Woodall's guide does not do this campground justice. The
sites are well spaced & pleasant, especially along the stream.
Speaking of the stream - it's a great foot cooler. Northerners
like us - come on down y'all!
P.S. Becky &
Ron are the perfect hosts. Thoughtful, informative & kind. |

This was our
first time camping and we are really glad we picked Mountain
Stream for our first experience. You have a beautiful campground
and our family loved living right beside the creek, even if only
for a few days. The bathroom facilities were so clean and neat.
Everyone was very friendly and always available to answer any
questions. Thank you Ron & Becky for a very memorable first
camping trip. We will definitely be back soon. |

This is a
beautiful campground! Everything stated on your website is
absolutely true. This was our first time camping (without our
parents!) and the experience has been wonderful. Everyone was
very friendly & helpful and provided us with a lot of good

covered supper! We both said if we owned a campground, this is

outstanding RV park. We felt "at home" here immediately. We can

Hope all is
going well. Just wanted to drop a line to you all to let you
know how much we enjoyed our stay at your park. All of the
reviews mention things from how clean the bathrooms are to how
nice you all are. We can truly agree with all of them. It is the
best!! Our son had a great time. He really liked the
creek/stream. Heck, the rock tumbler is currently polishing some
of the rocks he found there. Thanks for the fireworks too!! We
had a chance to meet Charlie and his wife. Just like your
park---class act!! We hope to get a chance to visit again. (June
