2014 Camper Comments

Ron & Becky, Thanks so much for your hospitality on the invite for Thanksgiving. This may be our 3rd trip in our camper, but worth the trip to visit such a serene, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Of all the campgrounds that we have camped & visited, Mountain Stream is A1. Superior in the Willcox’s Family Book to visit. Mark & I sincerely you more success in your business here and hope to return back many, many more trips. We were very much pleased with the site & especially the stream. Hope to see you again in the near future. God Bless you & your family. (42′ Park Model 11/26 – 11/30)

We loved it here – one of the prettiest RV parks we have seen. Out RV was right on by the mountain stream. We loved the sound of the babbling brook – especially at night. Lots of hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. Park well cared for, rest rooms very clean. Thanks! (38′ 5th Wheel 11/23 – 11/30)

We really enjoyed our stay here. Ron & Becky are very nice. It was so nice that they welcomed all of us campers into their home for Thanksgiving dinner!! Now that is hospitality!! The campground is so well maintained. We loved having a site on the creek. It was very nice to have a fenced in dog park to take our dogs to. We will definitely be back!! 🙂 (26′ Travel Trailer 11/26 – 11/29)

We had a wonderful time at your campground. This was our first time coming to the mountains with a camper and we could not have asked for a better area to stay at. We will be back again, hopefully soon, and especially to celebrate me and Jacob’s engagement! Thank you! (19′ Travel Trailer 11/07 – 11/09)

This was our first time RV’ing. Our experience was wonderful. The Mountain Stream RV Park is in a very nice location. We were near moving water. The park grounds and facilities are meticulously clean and neat. Ron was a big help getting us hooked up for the first time. We hope to return for another stay. (Class C 11/02 – 11/05)

Wow! What a gem of an RV park. Beautiful area nestled in the mountains. Peaceful, serene setting. All areas of the park clean & well kept. Impressed with each individual campsite landscaping. Some with decks near the stream. Good spacing between each site, some very large. Geared more toward adult campers (no pool, playground, activities). WiFI adequate – no streaming. No phone (cell) service. Yeah! Very close to Blue Ridge Parkway. Fire rings & picnic tables in great condition. More room needed for vehicle parking. (35′ Motor Home 10/31 – 11/04)

Ron & Becky – You have a beautiful RV park. We enjoyed a riverside area where we could hear the water rushing over the rocks. We enjoyed sitting in our camping chairs and watching the colored leaves float by. All parts of the RV park were clean, particularly the bath house and rest rooms. It was quiet and neighbors were friendly. You both were kind and gave us a personal welcome. There are a lot of things to see and do in the area. We will be coming back to stay again!! (we also liked meeting you cat & dog). (30′ Travel Trailer 10/23 – 10/27)

We stayed three wonderful nights & just when it couldn’t get any better, Ron camp to our camp site & said we had already paid in July (we had to change dates) which we had forgotten all about, and refunded our money that we had paid twice. Honesty is sometimes hard to find! We love Mountain Stream RV Park! (25′ Travel Trailer 10/23 – 10/26)

We really love this campground. Can not wait to come back. We really loved the fenced in pet area. Only problem is the way you have to park – not enough room for your truck. Rest rooms were in great shape, really clean. (27′ Travel Trailer 10/22 – 10/24)

I came to Mountain Stream to spend 4 days on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I accomplished that, even was on the Parkway for sunrise two days. What did I pay MSRVP for? A clean well managed home for 5 days. I found that completely, a temporary home that I felt comfortable in. I slept with the windows open listening to the stream. I hate to leave but look forward to returning. Thank you God for including these beautiful mountains in your creation and thanks to Ron & Becky for looking after this great place to live for a few days. (19′ Travel Trailer 10/05 – 10/10)

This is an awesome campground. We could not have picked a better place to go with our brand new camper. It is very clean, sites are spacious, flat, easy access to park, very quiet and laid back. The park is in a great setting, the grounds are kept up. A nice stream complements many sites. The only complaint is several sites I like have trees that need to be trimmed. It’s simple, if you own a rig valued at $50,000 and it’s parked outside and faded and maybe scratches you don’t care. A healthy six digit value, parked inside always and looks new, you’re not eager to get scratches. (41′ Motor Home 09/23 – 09/27)

Just want to say it was another great stay at the campground. Had a great potluck dinner on Saturday night where we met a lot of great campers. The grass was still so green that it makes you want to lie down in it and look at the stars. The weather was nice and cool in the evenings and the mountain stream is so peaceful it still puts me to sleep. Thanks Ron and Becky for having such a nice campground to vacation in. What a beautiful park! We opted for a prime stream with deck site. Right on the water, it was so relaxing. Loved the varnished & sealed picnic table & benches – easy to keep clean and no splinters. Bath house was immaculate, great water pressure too. We did not bring our fur-kids with us, but WOW! If you have dogs, the fenced-in, very large doggy area was unlike anything we have seen anywhere else. Makes this campground extremely dog-friendly. We would definitely give a 5-star rating and a booking our next stay before we leave!! (32′ Travel Trailer 08/20 – 08/24)

The rushing of the creek, the flowers, the camp fires and the humming birds all around have helped to heal and rest our souls. Everyone is so friendly and the owners always are ready to help if there is a need. The only problem I have found is that Mountain Stream has made it where I don’t want to go anywhere else. Owner’s Comment: The shower head in this shower stall has a manual flow valve. Either this camper or the one who used the shower before them had turned the lever controlling the water flow low enough that there wasn’t enough water flow to trigger the burners on the water heaters. We have two 199,000 btu tankless water heaters for the bathhouse. These provide unlimited hot water. However they are set at the factory to require a certain amount of water flow through the heater before the burners are triggered to come on. I’m told this is to prevent the burners from running continuously if someone doesn’t turn a sink faucet or shower completely off. The flow valve on the shower head can be turned low enough to keep the heater from kicking but still provide enough water flow to shower – but the reduced flow would be very noticeable. We only have one shower head with this flow valve and it has previously created this same problem 2 or 3 times over the past couple of years. We will replace it with a standard shower head to prevent any further issues.
Our stay at Mt. Stream RV Park in July for a nine day vacation was the perfect setting. If you desire peace, serenity and quiet this is a perfect retreat. The campground is immaculate; landscaped beautifully, while capturing the natural beauty of the surroundings. Ron and Becky strive to offer a perfect setting for all to enjoy and also provide free wifi and cable. The bathhouse is spotless and cleaned daily. This is a destination that is truly one of the prettiest places this side of Heaven. Cannot wait to return. (22′ Travel Trailer 07/11 – 07/20)

We have enjoyed our 4 days at Mountain Stream as we always do. Our 5 and 6 year old grandsons loved playing in the creek and riding their bikes around the park. It had been a couple of years since we had been here,, and it’s even more beautiful with the immaculate lawns and beautiful flowers everywhere. It’s so nice to have thick rock so that we never have to get in mud despite 2 days of constant pouring rain. Bath house is also as clean as a pin. the satellite TV sure helped pass those rainy days. We look forward to our next stay here! (36′ 5th Wheel 07/16 – 07/20)

As full-timers for almost twenty years, we’ve stayed at a lot of RV parks. Mountain Stream certainly rates in the Top Ten. It is one of the prettiest parks with its beautiful gardens and landscaping. I visited your campground April 25 & 26 this year. I did not fill the “Comments” form but here they are. It was a delight to be there: clean, excellent service, nice view, quiet and peaceful. One drawback for me: it is the first year I pull a 25 ft travel trailer and I was a little stressed by the winding road leading to your camp. Fortunately I did not meet another trailer on the way in or out. Winding, beautiful and stressful. I’ll recommend it. (25′ Travel Trailer 04/25 – 04/27)

Beautiful and immaculate campground! We really enjoyed our two night stay by the creek. Even after a major night time thunderstorm, no ponding water because of the wonderful white gravel and immaculate landscaping. The nicest and well cared for campground we have ever stayed at! This campground is everything the website says it is. It is beautiful and the sound of the stream so peaceful and tranquil. It is now on our list favorite places to go. It is the nicest, best kept mountain campground we have been to. (We wanted to keep it our little secret so we could in when we want to go back.) We also love the two churches nearby, both very sweet and inviting. Bottom line, We Loved It! (38′ 5th Wheel 07/03 – 07/06)

Another “Great Holiday Weekend” at Mt. Stream. We always have a good time at this RV resort. The Saturday “covered dish” is a great way to meet people and enjoy the company of the other campers. We have met such delightful people up here. We’ll soon be back for another visit. Until then, be safe and be happy. (33′ Travel Trailer 07/03 – 07/06)

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at Mountain Stream in June. The campsites are so well kept/landscaped and there is so much to see/do in the area. This was perfect for our 46th Wedding Anniversary celebration! We stayed in Site 13 in our fifth wheel and the sights/sounds of the creek were the highlights of our stay! We are back in Florida now, planning when we can return to Mountain Stream! You certainly have created and maintained a peaceful escape to the NC Mountains. Thank you. (36′ 5th Wheel 06/20 – 06/26)

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed @ site 19 which was private & convenient to the dog park. We abided by the rules, which we thought were very reasonable. They are also clearly posted on the website, so anyone who doesn’t want to follow them should go elsewhere. Again, a beautiful place, very peaceful and a nice break from the internet & cell phones. Very friendly campers. We would definitely return. Oh, and the trout farm down the road is great! (28′ Travel Trailer 06/27 – 06/29)

This is the best kept and gorgeous private park I have ever had the opportunity to stay in. It is nicely laid out with the grass and flowers between each site and is very homey. The sites with the deck over the stream are really nice. The graveled level sites are also nice. (32′ Travel Trailer 06/19 – 06/23)

The campground is immaculately kept. Every site is maintained to perfection. The most popular sites are the ones with the creek running behind them, which makes sense as they offer a nice backdrop to the sites both visually and audibly. This campground is a little difficult to get to (up the main road to the camp), but well worth it. The seclusion is great, yet it is within 30 mins to 1 hour of some of the best natural attractions such as Mt Mitchell, Grandfather Mtn and Linville Falls/Gorge & Caverns. The owners, especially Becky, possess that great down home southern charm that makes you feel welcome. Thanks for a great stay! (37′ 5th Wheel 06/19 – 06/22)

Coming to a campground a second time can sometimes be a bit of a let-down, but our much awaited 2nd visit to Mtn Stream RV Park has been nothing less than Just The Best Camping Experience Ever! The site is amazing with a spacious grassy yard, a picnic table deck, a separate vehicle parking pad and a private fire pit right on the bank of Buck Creek. It’s obvious Ron & Becky have put in a lot of love with every detail on the site. And Buck Creek gave us much fun as we practiced our fly-fishing hobby for many hours of casting and of catching…a few small but lively Rainbow Trout. If anyone has ever earned our camping business, it is the folks here at Mtn Stream RV Park. We look forward to our return! (37′ 5th Wheel 06/19 – 06/22)

It was so nice getting back to our little slice of Heaven at Ron & Becky’s place. It had only been 6 months since we had been here last, but it felt like an eternity. Our site was empty when we arrived and we were able to check in a little earlier than we planned. Our stay was very enjoyable. The mountain stream sang a lullaby tune that put us to sleep every evening. Ron & Becky do a fantastic job keeping the park pristine in it’s appearance. If you’ve never stayed in the park, you truly have missed a little slice of Heaven. (32′ Travel Trailer 05/24 – 05/31)

Mountain Stream was recommended to us by Richard & Linda Greene who stayed here in 2012. We actually drove up from Charlotte to check it out before coming to camp and were impressed with the “whole” campground and setup. We started recommending it to others before our first camping experience here. We love it even more after staying here. We made some new friends from some of our neighbors and are planning to meet them again while at home. YES! Ron & Becky, we are coming back! And soon!! (30′ 5th Wheel 05/14 – 05/19)

A very pretty, well kept park. So pleasant to have the flower barrels along the camp sites and flower gardens at the shower & bathroom areas. This was our first time staying at Mountain Stream. All I can say is that we LOVED this campground. Having a site that backed up to the stream was so relaxing. The campground is very well maintained and just absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for a quiet place to camp, this is it. we will definitely be coming back again and again. We also enjoyed having the dog park for our dogs to run around & play. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. It is beautiful. (20′ Travel Trailer 04/24 – 04/28)

Beautiful campground. We enjoy the beauty & solitude. Appreciate how well maintained the grounds are kept. Small suggestion for site 2: the small tree between sites 2 & 3 has a couple fo low limbs that hit the awning and are at head level when walking around the site. Hit our heads a couple of times. Thanks. (31′ Class C 04/25 – 04/27)
