We regret to announce that Mountain Stream RV Park will be closed indefinitely due to significant damage caused by Hurricane Helene, which has washed away the campground and parts of the road. Our phone systems are currently unavailable as a result of the storm’s impact on our park, roads, and bridges. If you wish to support Mountain Stream RV Park, donations can be made through GiveSendGo. We sincerely appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time. First, I should say that Jennifer, Eleanor and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You have a very nice facility, and you justifiably take great pride in your camp. Your campground is pretty much exactly what we envisioned when we decided to take up camping, and has thus become the standard by which we measure other campgrounds. (I can now see that someone else recently provided that same comment on the “Happy Camper” page on your website, but I promise that I thought of it on my own:)
Now, for some specific positive feedback:
The Sunday morning church service in the pavilion was wonderful. I also appreciated the option of checking out late on Sunday so that we could have attended services at one of the local churches.
I loved the finish work that you did to the picnic benches. Very classy, and yet also quite practical. Easy to clean, no splinters, and I will have to think that they’ll last longer than unfinished tables? Just brilliant.
WiFi was very helpful, especially since OTA/cable TV was unavailable. It’s nice to be able to check up on the weather.
The big open grassy area was much appreciated. I am really glad that you have resisted any temptation to convert that space to more campsites.
I would have to really stretch to find anything negative to say about your camp. If I were forced to provide “constructive criticism” the only thing I can think of would be that the firewood that we purchased from you, we just could not get it to burn. Even when we added pieces of your wood to a pre-established fire that had been constructed from other materials, it just would not get going. I plan to try again next week with some leftover pieces. I’ll let you know if I have better luck. (Pretty small complaint, yes?)
In closing, we are looking forward to visiting again soon, and hope to bring some friends with us next time.
